Does Jimmy Butler make the 76ers Eastern Conference favorites?

On Saturday, the Minnesota Timberwolves agreed to send guard Jimmy Butler and center Justin Patton to the Philadelphia 76ers for forwards Dario Saric, Robert Covington, guard Jerryd Bayless, and a 2022 second round pick.

Don’t get that long sentence twisted, though. The only player that matters in that deal is Jimmy Butler. The success of the trade for both sides depends on what Butler adds to the Sixers, whether that is positive or negative.

Duke is FOR REAL.

duke-freshmen-nba-feature

Duke entered their opener against No. 2 Kentucky as the No. 4 ranked team. That was blasphemous. Duke demolished Kentucky from start to finish and it was undoubtedly the most dominant performance I have ever seen in college basketball.

Conference Standings: What’s Changed in 2 Weeks?

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at Sacramento Kings

The NBA season is only two weeks old, yet it feels as though most of my preseason predictions have been destroyed. The Bucks can’t lose, and the Rockets can’t win. LeBron seems to not be enough for a young Lakers team. The Celtics are struggling on offense. And Blake Griffin is looking like an MVP candidate. Blake. Griffin. Well, after two meetings with the Celtics, he has cooled off a bit, so maybe the sky isn’t falling just yet.

Should WNBA players be paid equally to NBA players?

brittney griner

The discussion regarding underpaid WNBA players has been prevalent recently thanks to comments from Brittney Griner.  The most recent involved her and others voicing their displeasure of G-League players being offered a $125,000 salary coming out of high school. Griner, though, has been a constant voice, also stating in the past that she could beat DeMarcus Cousins one on one and complaining that “mediocre” players like Tyler Johnson are making $20 million annually.

ROY-2-1280x640

The NBA season is finally upon us! As a Celtics fan, I am beyond excited to watch a season in which my team could realistically challenge for an NBA championship. Like any other year, we will witness big things throughout the year, and it is right that we are excited for the upcoming season. That being said, it is unlikely that we are going to witness something like last year with the three amazing rookies in Donovan Mitchell, Ben Simmons, and Jayson Tatum. Welcome to FanTake!

About Me:

My name is Kevin Le, and I am just a huge NBA fan, specifically of the Boston Celtics. I am starting this blog to give voice to my opinions regarding different topics around the NBA. Sometimes those opinions won’t make sense; I try to be as logical as possible, but I have biases just as everyone else, and I won’t pretend to be an analyst or an expert. Don’t expect to read many analytical numbers. Just like any other fan, I will rely on basic stats and the eye test to come to my conclusions, and hopefully, my opinions will spur readers to engage in a discussion regarding whatever the topic is. The goal of FanTake is to provide an open platform for healthy debate among passionate NBA fans.
