Entering their nationally televised contest with the Toronto Raptors last night, the Celtics were going through a three game losing streak to three mediocre teams in the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and Brooklyn Nets. I am a lifelong Celtics fan, so it is not hard to come up with a long list of reasons to hate James for everything he has done to stifle my team, but it is undeniable that he is an exemplary leader and that he commands respect. He is the ultimate leader both on and off the court with how he holds himself to a high standard and empowers others to succeed.

NBA Trade Machine: John Wall to the Knicks

In the lull of the early season, I decided to speculate on some spicier subjects: namely, trades. The trade deadline season is one of the most exciting times of every sport, and basketball is even more so. In the past two years, we have seen so many stars go on the move, from Kawhi Leonard, to Kyrie Irving, to Chris Paul, to Paul George, to Jimmy Butler (twice). The flurry of moves in recent years has spoiled us fans into expecting big splashes continually.

Boy, do the Philadelphia 76ers wish they could have had a do-over. Not only can you easily name ten to fifteen players in that draft that teams would rather have than Fultz, the Sixers even traded the 2019 Kings pick to their rival, the Boston Celtics, to move up and grab him.

NBA Fast Starts: Buy or Sell

As of right now, the Golden State Warriors are third in the Western Conference. The Houston Rockets, who pushed those Warriors to seven games in the Conference Finals last year, sit at ninth. Some of that has to do with the slippage we are seeing from these two squads, but the larger story thus far has been the surprising starts we have seen from multiple teams. The East has largely gone according to expectations, with the Raptors, Celtics, 76ers, Bucks, and Pacers, all being top six teams. In the West, however, it is a wild, wild West right now.

Some teams that have been especially good so far will be highlighted below. But can they continue it all year long? Let’s play Buy or Sell.
