Using the Warriors in 2K should be illegal

As a teenager, I used to love playing the Association/MyLeague mode in NBA 2K. You would get to pretend to be a general manager and you would try to build a championship contender with whatever team you chose in the game. And I forgot what year, but either in NBA 2K15 or NBA 2K16, once you built a good team, great players would voluntarily take pay cuts to join your team. Therefore, once you got a couple stars, you were basically guaranteed to get 84 overall Carmelo Anthony for the mid-level exception of like five million. Obviously, that was unrealistic. But apparently, the Golden State Warriors did not get the memo, instead signing DeMarcus Cousins in the offseason for less than what the Celtics paid Aron Baynes.

Good Celtics or Bad Celtics

kyrie

Entering their nationally televised contest with the Toronto Raptors last night, the Celtics were going through a three game losing streak to three mediocre teams in the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and Brooklyn Nets. However, against the best record in the league last night, the Celtics were able to dispatch the Raptors 117-108. Continue reading “Good Celtics or Bad Celtics”

As of right now, the Golden State Warriors are third in the Western Conference. The Houston Rockets, who pushed those Warriors to seven games in the Conference Finals last year, sit at ninth. Some of that has to do with the slippage we are seeing from these two squads, but the larger story thus far has been the surprising starts we have seen from multiple teams. The East has largely gone according to expectations, with the Raptors, Celtics, 76ers, Bucks, and Pacers, all being top six teams. In the West, however, it is a wild, wild West right now.

Some teams that have been especially good so far will be highlighted below. But can they continue it all year long? Let’s play Buy or Sell.

Conference Standings: What’s Changed in 2 Weeks?

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at Sacramento Kings

The NBA season is only two weeks old, yet it feels as though most of my preseason predictions have been destroyed. The Bucks can’t lose, and the Rockets can’t win. LeBron seems to not be enough for a young Lakers team. The Celtics are struggling on offense. And Blake Griffin is looking like an MVP candidate. Blake. Griffin. Well, after two meetings with the Celtics, he has cooled off a bit, so maybe the sky isn’t falling just yet.

Which 87 is Better? Mitchell vs Simmons vs Tatum

ROY-2-1280x640

The NBA season is finally upon us! As a Celtics fan, I am beyond excited to watch a season in which my team could realistically challenge for an NBA championship. Like any other year, we will witness big things throughout the year, and it is right that we are excited for the upcoming season. That being said, it is unlikely that we are going to witness something like last year with the three amazing rookies in Donovan Mitchell, Ben Simmons, and Jayson Tatum.
